Breastfeeding is a great way to give your baby a healthy start. Human milk provides babies with the perfect balance of protein, sugar and fat for healthy growth. It has a number for benefits for children—and their mothers.

For children, breastfeeding boosts immunity against diseases and infections, lowers the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and supports healthy weight gain. For mothers, it builds strong bonds, speeds recovery after childbirth, burns extra calories, lowers the risk of certain cancers, and saves money spent on formula.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that parents feed infants only breast milk for the first six months, and continue breastfeeding for at least the next six months as your baby eats new foods. If you need information or help breastfeeding, the Service Benefit Plan covers breastfeeding education, as well as individual coaching by a physician, physician assistant, nurse midwife, nurse practitioner/clinical specialist, or registered nurse certified lactation consultant.

Choose from Two Kits

You can choose one of two available kits per calendar year—the Ameda Manual pump kit or the Ameda Double Electric pump kit. Your breast pump kit will come with a supply of 150 Ameda milk storage bags. You can also order 150 bags every 90 days, even if you own your own breast pump.
