10 Foods Rich in Water

Staying hydrated is essential to maintaining good function of your body and mind. Water helps your body regulate temperature, keeps your joints healthy, prevents infection and ensures your organs function properly.

Drinking water, while critical to your overall wellness, is just one way to ensure you are properly hydrated. There are plenty of foods that come loaded with H2O. The best part? These foods are easy to incorporate into your everyday meals or snacks—and most of them are delicious!

 

1. Cucumber is 95% water and one serving has just 8 calories. It’s also a good source of fiber, vitamin K and vitamin A.

2. Tomatoes are made up of 95% water. Plus, they are a good source of vitamins and minerals, like vitamin C, vitamin K, potassium and folate. Snack tip: add a dash of salt to sliced tomato and nom away!

3. Celery is made mostly of water and it has plenty of fiber. Snack tip: use almond or peanut butter along with raisins or honey for a healthy bite!

4. Watermelon is 92% water and 100% delicious. Even better, watermelon contains powerful antioxidants and nutrients.

5. Peaches are made up of 88% water. But they also contain plenty of fiber, making them good for feeling full.

6. Summer squash and zucchini are made of nearly 95% water and offer a variety of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

7. Bell peppers are loaded with water—and free radical-fighting antioxidants.

8. Cauliflower is water-rich, nutrient-rich and fiber-rich. Plus, it’s endlessly versatile, making it easy to incorporate into recipes.

9. Spinach is loaded with water and vitamins C, K and A. Spinach is also a great source of iron, folate and potassium.

10. Broth-based soup is made by simmering bones or veggies in water with seasonings. You can add vegetables to broth to make it extra hydrating.
